YoungAfro.com

Background

Many parents struggle to find culturally relevant media and educational material for their kids.
Many find such resources scattered among various web sites online and the time required to
search, analyze and aggregate this content requires more time than the average parent can
spend. Educators also have similar time constraints along with a variety of other issues tied into
not having a central online resource that supports culturally responsive teaching.

Mission

YoungAfro.com strives to be one of the premier destinations internationally for analysis and media content for black children. YoungAfro.com employs technology that effectively leverages personalization and customization of content that allows us to meet the demand for information, analysis and resources that help users understand the systemic issues related to black children. For parents, there is a relationship between positive racial socialization and academic success. We want parents to give 1 to 2 hours per week of positive racial socialization with their kids and this website will help them achieve this.
